On May 29, 2024, the Yale Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Maurie McInnis as the university’s next president. Her term begins on July 1.

Meet Maurie McInnis

President-elect Maurie McInnis has spent three decades in higher education, holding teaching, research, and administrator roles. For nearly two of those decades, she has held a range of leadership positions at three iconic universities. An award-winning author and scholar of the politics of art and slavery in the American South, McInnis is currently serving as the sixth president of Stony Brook University.
